Sex/Human Trafficking – Slavery in Colorado
Who among us would cringe at the thought of a teenager being raped. Colorado sex/human trafficking facts are faces of real people, real children.
Colorado has rescued more than 250 young people from trafficking rings in the last 3 years, 2013-2015. The FBI estimates that there could be as many 2000 child and youth sex trafficking victims in Colorado and Wyoming. Denver’s FBI Division along with Sgt. Dan Steele and Denver Police have rescued more victims than any other state recently. This is no time to fold our hands and relax- it is an assault on our generation of kids. It tears our hearts out to know they are being abused.
A pimp has a price for a victim and has trained her and broken her spirit. We put a higher value on these lives in order to turn these situations around. Callie’s Backyard was critical in helping establish “The Sex/Human Trafficking Task Force” Colorado based and now called the Lost Innocence Task Force. As we show you some human/sex trafficking solutions we encourage you to help us carry out what can help victims effectively. None can be done without a lot of people seeing the need and working together.
The good news is that more individuals, law enforcement organizations, the faith community, and not-for-profits are becoming aware of this issue, and doing something about it.
Join the Callie’s Backyard Foundation as we work with our partners to end slavery amongst the young people in Colorado.
